I have lived among the humid summers of the tropics and the plunging winter extremes of the southern states. I’ve emptied desert sand from worn boots and I’ve seen the sun rise and set over land and over the sea.

This life has been one of constant moving, beginning in Gosford, the town in which I was born but where I never grew up and would not ever know until 35 years later. It has been a life of shifting sands, of new and varied faces, accents familiar and some unknown; a life I can genuinely attest as plentiful and varied, a nomadic existence that has been all I have ever known.

What's In a Name?

It’s a big country, bigger than many of us realise. And in the size and grandeur of such a large continent there is an element that still exists that is wild, and not quite fully domesticated. This is the wildly Australia that we find when we depart the convenience and comfort of our homes, whether they be in Sydney, the Sunshine Coast, urban or rural.

Wildly Australia believes in the in the venture of vanlife, that permits us to escape to places raw and untamed, and sometimes those that are very much tamed, to explore a world that we may have never previously known.

And that is why we are Wildly Australia!

My interest in photography developed (no pun intended) around the time my sister gave me my first Kodak point-and-shoot camera. The camera accompanied me on a road trip that commenced in Queensland, concluded in Victoria and saw me immediately upgrading to an Olympus DSLR.
